Adele‘s “Skyfall” and Sam Smith‘s “Writing’s on the Wall” were the first Bond songs to win Golden Globes. They then went on to win Oscars. In fact, six of the last 10 winners for best original song have gone on to win the Oscar. Previously, “No Time to Die” won a Grammy in March 2021 for best song written for visual media.

Hans Zimmer‘s Dune also won the Golden Globe for best original score. Again, this might mean another win is in Zimmer’s future, as seven of the last 10 Golden Globe winners for best original score went on to win the Oscar.

Elsewhere, Steven Spielberg‘s West Side Story won best motion picture, while Succession won best drama series.

NBC did not air the Golden Globes on television this year. Instead, the awards were presented at a private event without any celebrities or nominees. The winners were announced on the organization’s website and social media.
