ChlöexHalle stylist Nikki Cortez has died, it has been confirmed.

The stylist was hugely respected throughout music and fashion, matching a passion for her subjects with a willingness to find personal expression.

Perhaps best known for her association with ChlöexHalle, she spearheaded their visual identity across the past few years.

With Chlöe now sharing some phenomenal solo cuts, Nikki Cortez working intimately with this incredible performer on some unforgettable shoots.

Clash worked with Nikki Cortez on our recent Chlöe cover, and she was an absolute joy – methodical and diligent, her touch and flair helped to create something we regard as a true high for the publication as a whole.

ChlöexHalle have mourned her passing, with Halle Bailey sharing an emotional tribute on Instagram Stories: “You were an angel here on this earth. You were such a special being and always the brightest light in the room. When you dressed me, you made me feel so happy and inspired me to be confident and secure in myself. Thank you for everything, will love you forever. @nikkixcortez rest in power.”

Artist Joekay also mourned a close friend: “Nikki, you will be missed by all of us. thank you for always being a great friend, for being supportive, for being selfless, and for just being you! this last post of yours shows how proud of your work you were. half your feed is you showcasing your clients & your gift of life. It’s crazy to me because you have been in your B A G for the past few years and you were honestly just warming up. Imagine what you would’ve evolved into 3-5 years from now? I got the news suddenly last night and it didn’t feel real. i still can’t believe it. Thank you for being you all these years. 562’s illest! Rest easy.”
