In The End music video from Dale Ann Bradley

0

Pinecastle Records has produced a music video with Dale Ann Bradley for In The End, one of the most moving songs on her current album, Things She Couldn’t Get Over.

This song, written by Arlo Gilliam, had been intended to be sung in harmony with Bradley’s life-long friend, Steve Gulley, and has wife, Debbie. It’s a powerful number about the fact that we can’t take it with us when we go, and that our kindness to others is how we will be judged once we pass on. On the day before the Gulleys were scheduled to come down to the studio to track the harmonies, Steve received the diagnosis for the cancer that took his life just a few weeks later. Needless to say, the session was cancelled.

To make this recording even more heartbreaking, when Dale Ann did cut her vocal, she was only able to get through it one time before breaking into tears, so they left it as the scratch vocal. In the end, that one time through the song ended up being the final vocal track. And she did a beautiful job in a tough situation.

Dale Ann’s take on In The End is lovely on its own, but knowing this back story makes it even more poignant.

Well done Ms. Bradley.
