Julian Lennon has signed a new global recordings agreement with BMG – with a new studio album in the works.

Lennon recently released his first-ever NFT drop, dubbed the ‘Lennon Collection.’ The NFT auction featured digital art pieces created from his personal and physical memorabilia collection. Part of that included Paul McCartney’s hand-written notes for the song, “Hey Jude.”

Julian Lennon’s most recent full-length albums include 1998’s Photograph Smile and 2011’s Everything Changes.

His music career exploded in the ’80s with his debut single, “Too Late for Goodbyes,” hitting #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. His debut album Valotte was also certified Platinum in the US, followed by the single “Stick Around” from The Secret Value of Daydreaming in 1986. Julian’s second US Rock chart-topper was “Now You’re In Heaven” from Mr. Jordan in 1989. That hit was followed up by the ARIA Platinum-certified Australian #1 single, “Saltwater,” in 1991 from Help Yourself.

“After working on new music for the past few years, I am happy to have found the perfect partner in BMG to help me bring this work to light,” says Lennon.

“Julian is a unique artist working across multiple art forms with a clear humanitarian and ecological perspective, which dates back decades,” says BMG EVP Global Recordings, Fred Casimir. “There is sometimes a long wait between Julian Lennon albums, but having heard this one, I’m convinced it was worth the wait.”

The new album deal follows the release of Julian Lennon’s cover of the Radiohead song, “Karma Police,” featuring Nuno Bettencourt. The two recently performed the cover on AXS TV as a charity benefit for Crew Nation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lennon is also known as a best-selling author, fine arts photographer, and global philanthropist.

Julian Lennon founded The White Feather Foundation in 2007. The Foundation partners with philanthropists and charities around the world to raise funds for humanitarian efforts like clean water, the preservation of indigenous cultures, the environment, and education and health.
