The victim of the alleged assault by the rapper Ye is now known.

The US Sun reports that Justin Poplawski has been collecting celebrity signatures for 25 years. “Right now, I’m just trying to live life and get back home,” Poplawski told the outlet. I still have other things to take care of,” Poplawski said before declining to comment further.

In a video of the attack, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West can be heard screaming in anger. He leans down and punches a man who is lying on the ground. Last week, the LAPD named West as a suspect in the attack near Soho Warehouse – a member’s only club.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ye addressed the attack. “You don’t know what I’m dealing with right now. I just finished these two songs, I came from the studio, and this dude just had this real attitude. That blue COVID mask ain’t stop that knockout; you know what I’m saying?”

Poplawski has collected celebrity signatures since 1996, according to the report. He has selfies with other stars like Taylor Swift, Adele, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Barack Obama. Poplawski reportedly approached Ye twice before the same night to ask for his autograph.

Kanye is going through a lot, if you follow him on social media. But that doesn’t make the alleged Ye assault justified. A single called “Eazy” that leaked on Friday calls out Pete Davidson, his ex-wife’s new boyfriend. “God saved me from the crash / Just so I could beat Pete Davison’s ass.”

On Saturday, January 15, the rapper released a bizarre set of videos saying Kim Kardashian was keeping him from attending his daughter Chicago’s 4th birthday party. “I wasn’t allowed to know where her party was,” Ye claims in the video. The rapper also claims that he was supposed to be recording a new album in Miami, but he changed his plans to be with his daughter on his birthday.

“I’m so happy right now; I just came from Chi’s party,” Ye tweeted. He credited Travis Scott for telling him the address so he could attend. “Kylie let me in, because the security stopped me again. It’s just a matter of having a conversation, open dialogue, and everyone just had a great time. Let me calmly and legally take control of my narrative,” the rapper added.
