In the space of little more than 12 months dvr went from an unknown talent in the Borders to working with hip-hop luminary Kenny Beats.
A bedroom talent that is primed for centre stage, he’s inked a deal with XL Recordings and begun to focus on his future.
With ambitions now coming into sight, dvr drops his brand new EP ‘dirty tapes’, lifting his music to a new level.
Probing fresh ideas while retaining that raw, DIY aesthetic, dvr teases out personal observations while retaining the inherent mystery around his creativity.
EP cut ‘drugs’ is a real standout moment, the urgent vocal pinned against a nagging guitar line that drills its way into your sub-conscious.
Underground artist Elif Gönen aka FORLUCK directs the video, which explores dvr’s own experiences of migraine medication.
Speaking about the clip, dvr says: “it’s just about headache meds. don’t do drugs…”
