Tyler, The Creator has released his long-awaited sixth studio album, Call Me If You Get Lost, through Columbia Records.
In addition to the highly anticipated album, the artist also released a scenic music video for “JUGGERNAUT.” The rapidly paced visual was directed by Wolf Haley, one of the artist’s various aliases.

With each new album, it becomes increasingly difficult to compare Tyler, The Creator’s releases to one another because of his reinvention and sonic evolution between each one. His newest record features guest vocals and production from artists such as Ty Dolla $ign, Westside Gunn, Lil Wayne and Domo Genesis. The assisted production takes a different path from his most recent critically acclaimed record IGOR, which the artist produced entirely by himself.
The new record’s number of features is more similar to his Grammy-winning, star-studded 2017 album, Flower Boy. Like all of the artist’s records so far, Call Me If You Get Lost proves he doesn’t require consistency to put out one of the most rewarding albums of the year.

Call Me If You Get Lost was originally teased June 9 when a billboard plastered with a mysterious phone number appeared in Los Angeles. Internet investigators found that when they dialed the phone number, it would automate a conversation between Tyler and his mother. The artist put speculation to rest a week later when he posted the phone number to the recording on Twitter.

It wouldn’t be a Tyler, The Creator release if the artist hadn’t also taken to the internet to simultaneously promote the album and squash any rumors or misinterpretations. As a larger-than-life internet personality who has consistently remained on millions of feeds since 2010, it’s easy for speculation to build around the enigmatic rapper. But for all the speculation, the artist is clear about his influences and aspirations for the album.

In addition to a number of guest vocalists, Call Me If You Get Lost enlists the help of DJ Drama on all but three songs of the 16-track album. Tyler, The Creator had been talking about a collaboration between the two artists for 11 years and asked Twitter to help him find a tweet referencing Drama’s 2007 album, Gangsta Grillz.

An hour later, Tyler posted a video alongside Drama in the studio. Visibly tired, the artist was intent on expressing his gratitude for the feature.
“Years of needing this. From the Gs to the Weezys to the mixtapes,” Tyler says in the remarkably uplifting video. “A legend. I don’t even use that word. You’re a fucking god. I love you, and I’m going to give you a hard hug when we’re done with this.”

Tyler, The Creator often rebrands himself on each album, and this iteration features a persona evidently inspired by Charles Baudelaire, a French poet known in his time as a lecherous deviant but now heralded as an erotic visionary. The album cover of Call Me If You Get Lost features a license with the name “Tyler Baudelaire,” paying homage to the poet. Tyler is dressed in over-the-top blue clothes and sports a nonchalant expression reminiscent of Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version.
The new video for “JUGGERNAUT,” released the same day as the album, features Tyler in a hodgepodge of rapidly changing scenes. Clocking in at only a minute-and-a-half long, the video includes scenes of the artist standing austerely in a lemon grove, pulling a monster truck and lip-syncing verses from both Pharrell Williams and Lil Uzi Vert.

The artist also dropped some specialty merch to coincide with the release. In addition to a limited amount of individual CDs and cassette tapes, he also included two separate shirt and poster box sets with the release. You can order them on his official website.
