Glenn Lewis is back in full form. The Canadian R&B singer has released his first album in over a decade, Overture, via Reimagery Inc.
The 16-track set, all written by Lewis, was preceded by the singles “Past Tense,” “G.Y.A.M.L (My Love)” and “Impressions.” The album features production by Seige Monstracity, Jason Harrow, Joel Chambers, Cobaine Ivory, John Fellner, Tink and more.
Across the album’s tracks, Lewis explores nuanced themes surrounding the different forms of love: romantic, familial, and most importantly, self-love.
“The title Overture felt right because, traditionally, an overture introduces everything that is about to unfold. In many ways, this album feels like a new beginning for me,” said Lewis.
“Not because I’m starting over, but because I’m stepping forward with a deeper understanding of who I am as a man, a father, a songwriter, and an artist. I didn’t want to chase trends. I wanted to create something timeless.”

He added, “Every song on this album carries a piece of that journey. Some are deeply personal. Some were inspired by conversations, memories, and experiences that stayed with me long after they happened. Together, they tell a story of growth, gratitude, vulnerability, and hope.”
Overture is the follow-up to 2013’s Moment of Truth. Speaking on the meaning behind the latter album’s title, Lewis told Rated R&B, “It came from a conversation I had with one of the producers, talking about what this album means to me and what it means in general.”
He continued, “It’s very personal in nature. Every time I was in the booth, I was leaving everything there. A little part of my heart and soul was left in each song, so it’s a ‘moment of truth,’ so to speak.”
