Big Daddy Kane Finally Responds? And He Did It With Bars, Not A Podcast
Big Daddy Kane has made a move.
If you’ve been paying attention over the last few weeks, you already know there has been a little tension brewing between Big Daddy Kane and Max B. Well, not really. But, it is a thing.
The whole thing started when Max B weighed in on his place in New York Hip-Hop history. During the conversation, Max said his impact on the culture surpassed that of some of the pioneers who came before him, including Big Daddy Kane. He went all wrong about it.
Big Daddy Kane actually accomplished a lot during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Kane was not just another rapper. He helped redefine what an emcee could be. His lyricism, stage presence, fashion, charisma and influence shaped the DNA of modern Hip-Hop. Ask Jay-Z. Entire generations of rappers borrowed from the blueprint he created. Biggie knew.
Second, Max B is 42 years old. He was around to witness the lasting impact of those pioneers. He was in jail longer than some of these kids have been alive. Whether he was outside during Kane’s prime years or not, the receipts are everywhere. He knows better.
Now, if you know anything about Big Daddy Kane, you know he is not the type to jump online every day and argue. He is not chasing viral moments. So we waited. And he gone viral with bars.
In a newly surfaced clip, Kane drops a line that immediately got people talking.
“Push your wig back like Stephen A.”
We’ll be watching closely to see if Max B responds or if this remains a warning shot promoting Kane’s upcoming album.
Check out the clip below and let us know what you think. Was this aimed at Max B, or are fans reading too much into it?
