Drake’s turning his controversial “Janice S###” track into exclusive apology parties for everyone legally named Janice across multiple cities.
Drake is turning his controversial track into a nationwide apology tour, and Toronto’s getting the first stop this weekend.
After releasing “Janice S###” from his Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti trilogy, the Toronto rapper caught heat from fans and people actually named Janice who weren’t thrilled about being called out in a chart-topping single.
Now he’s making it right by hosting exclusive parties for anyone with Janice as their legal first name, starting at Cactus Club on Sunday, June 28, from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M.
The whole thing’s pretty straightforward if your government ID says Janice. No nicknames, no middle names, no creative interpretations.
You show up with valid government-issued identification proving your legal first name is Janice, and you’re in.
According to NOW Toronto, the event is strictly limited to people who meet this requirement, making it one of the most exclusive parties Drake’s ever thrown.
Social media’s been having a field day with the announcement. People are joking about changing their legal names just to get an invite, with some commenting that the party’s gonna be packed with grandmas from retirement homes.
Others are genuinely upset they don’t qualify, asking how long a name change actually takes.
The song itself became a massive hit, breaking records and sparking conversations across the internet about whom Drake was really targeting with the track.
Drake’s planning similar parties in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Houston, making this a full-scale national rollout.
The Toronto event is just the beginning of what’s shaping up to be one of the most creative apology campaigns in Hip-Hop history.
