The temporary co-administrators of the DMX estate have been announced.

DMX passed away earlier this year without a will in place. His estate will be managed by his ex-wife Tashera Simmons and his oldest sons from that marriage – Xavier Simmons, Sean Simmons, and Tacoma Simmons. The three sons petitioned to become administrators of his estate.

“They will now exclusively manage the affairs of their late father’s estate,” the statement from the estate says. “The estate has retained entertainment attorney Ron Sweeney of Ron Sweeney and Company to exclusive handle all entertainment-related matters. Estate Attorney, Herb Nass is the attorney for the Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons estate and the sons as co-administrators.”

DMX fiancee Desiree Lindstrom saw her petition to be an administrator of the estate denied by a judge. DMX’s daughters from separate relationships also petitioned. Another child has also emerged, claiming to be the 15th child – Raven Barmer-Simmons from Georgia.

“The next big thing is to determine who are the rightful hers. The estate is going to ask everyone to prove paternity through DNA testing. All the legal children of DMX will be entitled to an equal share of his estate,” the attorney for the estate says.

Court documents valued the estate at a little under $1 million. Papers from his daughter’s legal team reveal the rapper was worth less than $50,000 when he died. But DMX left behind a timeless discography, the value of which will increase over time.

DMX, real name Earl Simmons, died at age 50 on April 9th of a heart attack. His first posthumous album, Exodus was released on May 28 by Def Jam Records. The LP featured guest appearances from many of DMX’s friends, including Jay-Z, Nas, and Snoop Dogg. The album is named after his five-year-old son with his fiancee who was denied a role as administrator of his estate.
