Rarelyalways Unveils Languid New Cut ‘Birds Eye’
London’s Rarelyalways has always marched to the beat of his own drum. Between last year’s ‘Baby Buffalo’ project and this summer’s Hanni El Khatib-produced follow up ‘Manic’, the rapper’s disregard of convention – his splintered approach, taking the best of garage, grime, funk, trip-hop and making it his own – has made him one of the most enthralling voices in music today.
Now, he’s back with some third-eye introspection on future jazz number, ‘Birds Eye’; sleepy chords and submerged sax courtesy of producer Subculture, provide the tranquilizing background to Rarelyalways’ off-the-cuff, shapeshifting flow.
“I want listeners to focus on the bigger picture and come out of their heads. Hence, ‘Birds Eye’. This is storytelling delivered with a sermon approach.”
