Spotify is launching two new podcasts aimed at industry professionals.

Last year the streaming giant debuted the For the Record podcast, featuring interviews with executives, employees, and industry experts. Now, the company is expanding its in-house podcast strategy with two new shows – Discover This and Mic Check.

Spotify: Discover This arrives on October 14 and will include insights on music, podcasting, cultural moments, and trends, according to the company. The podcast will feature a mix of music, artist interviews, and other surprise content. The first episode looks into the evolution of country music and showcases some emerging artists in the genre.

Another new Spotify podcast is Mic Check, which will connect creators with fans through intimate conversations with musicians and podcasters around the world. Each episode will focus on exclusive recordings and personal stories from the artists and podcasters featured.

Spotify is also launching the third season of its For the Record podcast later this month. For the Record offers listeners a behind-the-scenes look at Spotify with discussion of earnings reports, product launches, and business updates. Spotify says For the Record will be the ‘only’ place to hear about certain business updates.

“We want to tell stories in a way that’s uniquely Spotify and probably to no one’s surprise, we believe audio provides the perfect medium,” says Spotify’s Head of Global Communications, Dustee Jenkins.

“As a company, we strive to bring creators and fans closer together, and our podcasts further that ambition. By moving from one podcast into three segments with distinct audiences, we can ensure that the stories we’re telling and the topics we’re covering reach the people who care about them the most.”

Essentially, Spotify broke out the content of the For the Record podcast into more streamlined shows. Spotify says that’s because what’s ear-catching to those in the creator and entertainment industries is different than those in the lifestyle and consumer trends business. Spotify hopes to capture the separate attention of each audience with a tailor-made podcast for each.
