According to a new report, Travis Scott is no longer performing at Coachella 2022.

A report from KESQ in Palm Springs broke the news that the rapper would not be performing. The move comes after ten people died during a crowd surge event at the rapper’s own Astroworld Festival. A Change.org petition started just days after that event grew to 60,000 signatures calling for the rapper’s removal as a headliner.

Reps for Travis Scott have not confirmed the report.

The KESQ report cites the city of Indio and the Community Services Manager Jim Curtis. Coachella organizers Goldenvoice so far have not commented on the rumor of the removal. But it does appear as though many commercial products are breaking ties with Travis Scott over what happened at Astroworld.

Anheuser-Busch InBev discontinued its Cacti hard seltzer brand developed with the rapper. The brand is less than a year old and won’t be continued. “After careful evaluation, we have decided to stop all production and brand development of CACTI Agave Spiked Seltzer,” Anheuser-Busch said in a statement. “We believe brand fans will understand and respect this decision.”

According to a report from Ad Age, the endorsement deal expired on November 30. Sales of the beverage were down significantly and it relied heavily on a digital marketing campaign to raise brand awareness. That’s likely not something Anheuser-Busch wants to do. Even Nike has delayed the release of a sneaker collaboration with Scott’s Cactus Jack label – but did not cancel it outright.

So who else is performing at Coachella 2022?

Rumors abound since the official lineup has yet to be released. Rage Against the Machine is at least one confirmed headliner for the 2022 show. Frank Ocean will return as a headliner in 2023. CEO of Goldenvoice Paul Tollett says it’s been hard to book everyone fans want to see since the 2020 cancellations.

“I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually, they get to see everyone that we talked about,” Tollett says. The 2020 lineup included Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion.
