A leaked audio clip allegedly featuring Leonard Ellerbe and Al Haymon has exposed alleged beef with Floyd Mayweather – all thanks to 50 Cent.
Al Haymon And Leonard Ellerbe – these names do not often show up in Hip-Hop. They sure are boxing royals though. And then there’s 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather, former friends-turned-foes.
A newly leaked audio clip has the boxing world wondering what in the world is going on with Floyd Mayweather Jr., Leonard Ellerbe, Al Haymon and 50 Cent.
50 Cent reportedly shared what seems to be a private conversation between Ellerbe and Haymon. In the audio, the two men appear frustrated with Floyd over comments suggesting he “owned” PBC, Premier Boxing Champions. One of the voices can be heard saying, “You don’t own a m********** thing. You own yourself.” And then it got dark: a voice says, “Me and you stick close together and we’re going to put his little ass into the ground. You’ll see.”
If the recording is genuine, it would be shocking. These dudes ran tight. Leonard Ellerbe served as the face of Mayweather Promotions for years, while Al Haymon is the shadowy mastermind behind Floyd’s business empire and Premier Boxing Champions.
Why now? The timing is perfect. Floyd is in a world of sh#t. There are postponed exhibition fights, regular fights, lawsuits and then there’s his finances. 50 Cent is a scary dude and this seems to be another opportunity to needle his longtime rival.
And then there are the questions. How old is the recording? Is it authentic? Was it manipulated? AI? Why would someone sit on a conversation like this only for it to appear now? Al Haymon does not get caught lacking easily. Those questions remain unanswered.
For now, nobody directly involved has confirmed or denied the authenticity of the audio. Al Haymon is notoriously silent with the media. Leonard Ellerbe has yet to address it. Floyd Mayweather probably has more important things to deal with. But he did have a press release discussing the lack of fight with Mike Tyson and the Greece fiasco. (See link above.)
If this turns out to be real, it could reveal how one of boxing’s most successful alliances quietly crumbled years ago. If it is fake or AI…it would be genius. This soap opera is going to continue.
50 Cent managed to get everybody talking again. And I literally thought. “Wow…50 has been quiet.”
