Ari Lennox’s Vacancy era isn’t over just yet. The Washington, D.C., native has announced a deluxe edition of her third album, Vacancy: The Late Checkout, arriving later this year via Interscope Records.
The forthcoming expanded set will include the newly released single “Hookah Baby.” Produced by Tommy Brown and Leather Jacket, the track welcomes a night full of scented smoke and great music, where time stretches and Lennox is in no rush to leave the shisha lounge.
The standard edition of Vacancy was released in January. Executive produced by Elite, the album was preceded by the singles “Soft Girl Era,” “Vacancy,” “Under The Moon” and “Twin Flame.”
Speaking on the project, Lennox told Jennifer Hudson on The Jennifer Hudson Show, “Vacancy, the title, it really is that. There’s a space — a void — that I would love for someone to feel, but the reality is people be in and out like a gosh darn hotel. So I’ve just been writing a lot about my infatuation phases all the last 34 years of my life.”
Lennox supported the album on The Vacancy Tour, which wrapped up in June. Vacancy is the follow-up to 2022’s Age/Sex/Location.
