The incident allegedly began during an argument over televisions. Investigators claim Desiigner chased a female with a hammer, smashed multiple cell phones and caused significant property damage inside a residence.
Authorities took him into custody following the incident.
He remains in custody and no bond had been set on the second-degree domestic violence charge and most of the felony property damage charges at the time of this report being published.
The arrest comes less than four months after Desiigner was charged in another domestic violence case involving the mother of his child.
That earlier case stems from an altercation on March 2 at the couple’s Conway, South Carolina home. According to police warrants, the dispute began after Desiigner and the woman got into a heated argument. She attempted to leave to retrieve luggage left at the airport, but he refused to let her go.
Police allege Desiigner ripped car keys from her pocket, tearing her sweatpants. He allegedly placed their toddler into a vehicle then shoved the woman to the ground when she tried to intervene. She suffered minor scratches and bleeding to her arm and lower back, according to reports.
The child did not witness the alleged assault.
After evading capture, he was eventually arrested on March 23, charged with third-degree domestic violence and released after posting a $1,500 bond. This misdemeanor case is pending, with a court appearance currently scheduled for Oct. 16.
The Brooklyn native rose to prominence in 2016 when his breakout single “Panda” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. He promptly signed with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music.
He later earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance.
Desiigner’s reps have not commented on the new arrest.
