Donald Trump’s suddenly fuller blond hairstyle turns a Las Vegas policy speech into an online investigation of his famous mane.
Donald Trump is accused of wearing a wig after appearing in Las Vegas with hair so full it practically entered the room first.
The 80-year-old president appeared Wednesday at Red Rock Resort with a brighter, thicker blond style than viewers saw one night earlier on Fox News.
The makeover followed Sunday photographs showing Trump’s familiar swept-back structure losing an argument with the wind while he boarded Air Force One.
Journalist Aaron Rupar asked, “Is Trump rocking a wig, or what the hell is going on here?” before observing that Trump’s hair had “a lot more volume than normal.”

The current theory remains unproven, and Trump has spent years insisting the famous construction above his forehead grew there naturally.
During a 2015 campaign appearance, he invited a woman onstage to inspect his head after declaring, “I don’t wear a toupee, it’s my hair, I swear.”
Jimmy Fallon tested that claim on The Tonight Show in 2016, burying his fingers inside the blond fortress and leaving it temporarily scrambled.
Megyn Kelly later offered an even stronger eyewitness report after conducting what sounded less like journalism and more like a follicle search warrant.
“I would say the hair is real. I have laid hands on it personally. That is not a wig, and it’s not a combover, either,” Kelly said. “I stuck my hands under there, I shoved my hands up in that hair, and that’s real.”
Trump once explained the engineering process himself, proving his hair has always required patience, strategy and its own unofficial press secretary.
“O.K., what I do is, wash it with Head and Shoulders. I don’t dry it, though. I let it dry by itself. It takes about an hour,” he said.
“I then comb my hair. Yes, I do use a comb. Do I comb it forward? No, I don’t comb it forward.”

Even manipulated footage has joined the mythology, although Reuters proved a 2024 video showing Trump’s hair flying into an airplane engine was altered.
