North Houston’s Kenneth Millyun links back up with TeeZol for “Call It Whatever,” a gritty new single that arrives on the heels of his Crossing Streets EP.
North Houston is making more noise this year, and Kenneth Millyun is a big part of why. The rising artist has linked back up with longtime collaborator TeeZol for “Call It Whatever,” a record that pairs sharp, rapid-fire bars with a confrontational edge neither artist softens for a second right after his new EP ‘Crossing Streets’ release!
The two have a history that predates either of their catalogs. TeeZol was the one who first heard something in Millyun’s freestyles at a house party years ago and pushed him to get into the studio, a moment that effectively launched Millyun’s career. That same chemistry shows up again here, with Millyun’s controlled, pointed delivery bouncing off TeeZol’s looser, more unpredictable cadence over a beat built for momentum rather than polish.
“Call It Whatever” follows closely behind Millyun’s three-track EP Crossing Streets, released April 30 via EMPIRE, which already featured TeeZol on the standout cut “Lots of It.” Across that project, Millyun worked rock textures into a hip-hop frame, drawing from a childhood spent absorbing everything from Motown to OutKast to Linkin Park and Deftones in equal measure, a mix that’s become his signature rather than a gimmick.
Two releases in two months signal an artist who’s stopped waiting for a breakthrough moment and started building his own momentum instead. With “Call It Whatever” out now and a fuller project reportedly still ahead, Kenneth Millyun‘s north Houston run looks far from finished.
