Jethro Sheeran came out firing at his megastar cousin during an exclusive sit-down with Piers Morgan, calling Ed Sheeran a “snake” and “coward” over how he handled the Macklemore situation.
The tension between the two has been building for years, but this interview marks the most public and direct confrontation yet. Jethro’s accusations cut deep, and he’s not backing down from any of it.
The Macklemore controversy started when the rapper made pro-Palestine comments at Ed’s New Jersey shows on September 4-5, 2026, saying “Free Palestine” and displaying images of Gaza devastation.
Billionaire Robert Kraft, who owns Gillette Stadium and the New England Patriots, reportedly gave Ed an ultimatum: drop Macklemore or don’t perform at his venues.

Macklemore was removed from the tour on September 14, 2026, and multiple opening acts, including Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, Finneas, and Beoga, dropped out in solidarity.
Ed claimed the decision came from promoter Messina Touring Group, not him, but Jethro isn’t buying that excuse.
“Seeing what he did to Macklemore, I believe that he kicked him off that show cuz I’ve witnessed him being a coward for almost 10 years and lying,” Jethro explained according to the interview.
Jethro also alleged Ed pulled similar moves with grime artist Wiley, who faced serious consequences after his 2020 anti-Semitic rant on Twitter.
According to AllHipHop reporting, Wiley went on an almost 12-hour tirade equating Jewish people with the KKK and “rednecks,” pushing stereotypes about Jews controlling banking and laws.
Facebook and Instagram deactivated his accounts for repeated hate-speech violations, Twitter temporarily banned him, and his manager, A-List Management, dropped him.
Wiley later apologized.
Jethro also claims Ed released a song directed at him.
“There’s a song called ‘A Little Bit More.’ If you actually go into that song and listen to it, that song’s about me,” Jethro said. “He says, ‘We’re going to die someday…until that day you die, I will hate you just a little bit more.’”
Jethro is dropping his own response track, “Eject,” in two weeks, and he showed off his skills during the interview by rapping a verse.
Piers Morgan suggested the performance proved why Ed’s a global superstar, and Jethro isn’t, but Jethro maintained he’s more talented at rapping and writing.
Ed has since returned to performing, telling crowds at a recent show that friends and family have abandoned him, but he’s got 50,000 fans who haven’t.
Many believe that comment was aimed directly at Jethro, who’s been vocal on social media about everything that’s gone down.
