Mýa is back with Retrospect, her 10th studio album and first in eight years, via Planet 9/Virgin Music Group.
The 16-track set is packed with the previously shared “Anytime,” “Face to Face,” “Give It to You,” “ASAP” and “Just a Little Bit” featuring Too $hort.
Other collaborators include 21 Savage, who appears on the “ASAP (Remix),” Snoop Dogg, Joyner Lucas, Phil Adé and Dizzy Wright.
Sonically, the album is rooted in disco, funk and soul, with a twist of hip-hop. Among the album’s highlights is the Snoop Dogg-assisted “No Pressure,” which nods to Michael Jackson and Rick James, while celebrating a love forming that feels effortless.

Speaking on Retrospect, Mýa said, “Music wasn’t just a part of my life; it was the heartbeat of my home, the foundation of my joy. This album is a celebration of that and the kind of funk that never fades. It’s a bridge between the past and the future, honoring the greats, my inspirations, while forging something new.”
She continued, “We created this project with the intention to transport us back to a special time in music and culture that brought so much love, laughter, joy and reflection to our lives. The days of cassette tapes, vinyl, the most amazing gatherings, concerts, house parties, skate nights and date nights.”
Retrospect is the follow-up to 2018’s T.K.O. (The Knock Out), which included standouts such as “Damage” and “You Got Me.”
