There’s a rumor saying 50 Cent and Eminem are secretly working on an album and while it sounds far-fetched, people hope it is true.
50 Cent might be sitting on one of the biggest surprises in Hip-Hop history. Or maybe somebody is pulling my leg. Either way, the rumor is too good not to talk about.
Now, before anybody starts screenshotting this and treating it like gospel, it is a rumor. In fact, I actually think it’s probably not true. But rumors are rumors because they’re floating around before anybody knows what the facts really are. Here’s what landed in my ear.
Somebody I know told me that 50 Cent and Eminem could be working on a full collaborative album. Could.
Yeah. A whole album.
If that sounds crazy, that’s because it is.
Think about it for a second. Every time these two link up, something epic happens. They’ve already built a catalog of records together that we still play today. Their chemistry is unquestioned. They came up together during one of the most dominant eras and whenever they reunite it feels like G-Unit and Shady Records are back causing problems.
Now here’s why I’m skeptical.
50 Cent isn’t exactly flooding the streets with new music these days. Between television, film, business ventures and touring, he’s got plenty on his plate. He’s taking over a small town. Eminem has always moved differently. He pops out when he wants to, disappears when he wants to. We just saw D12 release new music without Eminem.
Still…
What if this is the play?
What if they’ve been quietly recording for months? What if they decided that instead of another solo album, the biggest statement they could make would be together? What if the rumor is off and they are just recording material? They could be coming back individually.
I’m not putting my reputation on this one. I’m putting my source’s reputation on it. LOL! After this, I may no longer accept any rumors from him.
Sometimes the wildest rumors end up being true.
