Snailbeach Shares Graceful New Song ‘Fireflies In The Sun’

South London songwriter Snailbeach has shared his halo’d new single ‘Fireflies In The Sun’.

The bucolic jewel resonates with a highly organic feel, dipping into classic folk-hewn pastures – think early 70s Neil Young, or Leonard Cohen’s debut LP – while adding something new.

A fixture around the cafes and venues of South London, Snailbeach – real name Theo Williams – uses music to speak quiet truths, sharing experiences that might otherwise go unrecognised.

‘Fireflies In The Sun’ draws on this energy, with Snailbeach aiming to capture the magic that exists in mundanity, and the glimmer that lies underneath our daily lives.

Beautifully composed, it’s reminiscent of Father John Misty is one of his angelic moods, or perhaps Ryley Walker’s more overtly folk-aligned material.

The songwriter comments…

“The song is intended to be thought provoking – weighing up the nonsense of everyday life with the beauty of being and our fleeting reality. It’s foremost a catchy song about death with nice string arrangement. The song was produced with Shuta Shinoda emulating the style of the recordings done in the 1970s with a dry drum sound, double-tracked vocal and a rhythmic string section – a nod to ‘Plastic Ono Band’, John Lennon or ‘Harvest’, Neil Young.”

Tune in now.
