Diddy’s attorneys say they cannot reach him inside FCI Fort Dix, forcing them to seek more time as Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ civil lawsuit continues.
Diddy’s lawyers say they cannot even reach him. But where is Diddy?
According to court filings first reported by AllHipHop’s Grouchy Greg Watkins, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has asked a federal judge for more time because they have been unable to communicate with the mogul since his transfer to FCI Fort Dix. His biggest civil case still hangs over his head and is moving forward. They need to speak to him.

Attorney Erica A. Wolff told United States District Judge J. Paul Oetken that the defense has been unable to speak with Diddy before a key filing deadline in Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit.
“As the Court is aware, Mr. Combs is currently incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix,” Wolff wrote. “The undersigned Counsel for Mr. Combs has been unable to communicate with Mr. Combs at FCI Fort Dix in advance of the approaching deadline to file his amended answer and counterclaims.”
But – what happened to Diddy? They can’t have somebody in the jail go over to his cell and tell him he has a phone call? I am confused. Shouldn’t this be easy work? What makes this so much different that other cases? I am wondering if this is a statement on Diddy’s safety or his state of mind? I am seriously curious – even worried. Could something bad have happened? Or, is this something strategic?
The defense requested an additional three weeks, pushing the deadline to July 21. Now, it is up to the judge.
Lil Rod‘s lawsuit is a different civil case.
The producer, who worked on The Love Album: Off The Grid, filed suit in 2024 with the craziest of allegations. He accused Combs of sexual harassment, sexual assault, trafficking, drugging his drinks, forcing him to solicit sex workers, attempting to pressure him into sexual encounters with other men through promises of career advancement and threatening him with violence.
Diddy has denied the allegations from the very beginning. But there is smoke! Lil Rod was all up in the Diddy Doc by Netflix and seems to have credibility to me.
The court has already dismissed several portions of the lawsuit, including civil RICO claims, breach of contract claims, emotional distress claims and a trafficking allegation against Combs Global, significant allegations remain active. The trafficking claim against Combs personally, along with claims involving alleged sexual assault, are still moving through federal court.
Diddy’s legal battles are far from over. I just want to know what is going on!
