Before becoming Nukiknowws, De’Shaun Charles LaDale Perkins was a kid who found joy in competition, creativity, and family. His journey began in living rooms, arcades, and summer gatherings with his father’s side of the family, where UNO, Monopoly, Dave & Buster’s, Tekken 5, Soulcalibur II, Def Jam: Fight for NY, and WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain built memories that shaped his competitive spirit.
At 16, Perkins began writing and recording rap. Friends believed he had the talent to become a breakout artist, but his camera shyness kept him from pursuing the spotlight. Instead of rushing to release music, he focused on improving his craft. By graduating from the TYA National Guard Youth Program at 18, he had built a catalog of unreleased songs while developing a passion for music production. Today, he still produces beats for himself and NUWORLDBABY, keeping every instrumental exclusive to the collective.
In 2016, Perkins survived a devastating car accident that left him in a months-long coma. Waking up meant facing the painful reality that friends he once shared life with were gone. The experience transformed his outlook, giving his music greater purpose and reinforcing his belief that every opportunity should be treated as if it were the last.
Gaming remained a major part of his life, but after the success of “FLOWDA JIT,” he chose to remove much of his gaming content and fully commit to music. It wasn’t a rejection of gaming—it was a decision to build the legacy he believed he was meant to leave.
Beyond his solo career, Nukiknowws continues expanding NUWORLDBABY Records, an independent collective focused on originality, collaboration, and authenticity.
