Nashville-born artist and producer IDEGO is officially stepping into the spotlight with his self-titled debut EP, arriving July 17, 2026.
Pronounced “id-ego,” the rising rapper has already gained momentum through singles such as “PRAY SOME” and “SHOCKING!,” while also earning a spot in Rapzilla’s 2026 Freshman Class. The five-track project introduces listeners to IDEGO’s experimental mix of Christian hip-hop, trap production and EDM-inspired sound design.
The EP includes the previously released tracks “PRAY SOME,” “SHOCKING!” and “CALLING OUT” featuring Kins, along with two new songs, “bloodsoap.” and “SO CONFIDENT” featuring fellow Rapzilla freshman Peair.
For IDEGO, the project is both a personal introduction and a clear statement of purpose. He describes the EP as a reflection of his musical identity, faith and potential as an artist. Although each track carries a Christian message, his goal is to create music that can connect with listeners beyond the traditional Christian music audience.
“I wanted to pave a way forward where people can like my music outside of the Christian world, just purely because it sounds good,” IDEGO explained.
One of the project’s most distinct tracks, “bloodsoap.,” combines elements of phonk and EDM while examining the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice. Rather than treating the subject casually, IDEGO designed the song to challenge listeners to think more deeply about what believers celebrate and why.
Music has surrounded IDEGO for most of his life. His father managed bands and worked during the early years of TobyMac’s Gotee Records, while his mother worked in branding and product development for musical acts. As he grew older, IDEGO expanded beyond the Christian music he heard at home and began studying artists such as Kanye West, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, along with underground hip-hop and rage rap.
He later studied Commercial Music with a concentration in Production at Samford University, where he began producing for underground Christian artists including Peair and A3. After releasing a production project and experimenting with writing over his own beats, IDEGO decided to move from behind the boards and fully pursue his own career as an artist.
With his debut EP, IDEGO is looking to prove that strong faith, creative production and sharp rap ability can exist within the same sound.
